About World Tourism Day 2025
The World Tourism Day website provides information about the purpose and history of this celebration. Established by the UNWTO in 1980, this day is celebrated every 27 September to commemorate the adoption of the UNWTO Statutes in 1970

World Tourism Day aims to increase global awareness of the importance of tourism in economic, social and cultural development, as well as its contribution to sustainable development goals
Mission:
Encouraging Economic Growth: Strengthening the tourism sector as a driver of economic growth and job creation. Promotion of Inclusive Tourism: Ensure that the benefits of tourism are felt by all groups, including local communities. Building Peace and Intercultural Dialogue: Using tourism as a tool to strengthen intercultural understanding and tolerance.
